MINISO has announced the launch of its first-ever Hello Kitty® and Friends PopUps in North America, marking Sanrio’s first time collaborating with a brand to roll out a pop-up experience in the region. As an official collaboration between MINISO and Sanrio, the collaboration sets a new benchmark for IP-driven experiential retail, underscoring MINISO’s evolving role as a global IP operation platform in the North American market.

The collaboration introduces 500+ officially licensed Hello Kitty® and Friends products and exclusives, spanning a wide range of categories that cover everyday life—from trendy toys and collectibles to lifestyle goods, accessories, stationery, beauty items, and more. Key highlights include the pop-up debut of nearly 30 vinyl plush pendant blind boxes and collectible figures, featuring newly released MINISO & Hello Kitty and Friends’ series such as Forest Animal and Hide and Seek. These are launched alongside practical daily use collections such as Hello Spring and Tennis Diary, offering consumers a strong sense of freshness and discovery through designs not available elsewhere.

MINISO’s North America Pop-up Debut Series
MINISO brings the beloved world of Hello Kitty® and Friends into the physical retail space through a playful, walk-through pop-up experience. Featuring a soft pink-and-blue visual theme inspired by the characters, the pop-up includes large-scale character graphics, rainbow and cloud elements, and multiple photo-ready areas throughout the space. From a Hello Kitty-shaped entrance to open, easy-to-navigate layouts showcasing My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, and friends, the environment is designed to feel welcoming, joyful, and highly shareable.


Building on this launch, MINISO’s collaboration with Sanrio is rooted in a long-standing global partnership. Since 2016, MINISO has worked closely with Sanrio across international markets, developing multiple collaborative product lines and launching innovative retail experiences, including Sanrio-themed stores in Indonesia, as well as Sanrio character-inspired flagship stores in Australia and Canada.
After a decade-long collaboration, the two brands further deepen this partnership by officially bringing the Hello Kitty® and Friends pop-ups to North America for the first time. The Hello Kitty® and Friends Pop-Up debuted in New York at Tangram Mall in Flushing on March 14, before expanding to Los Cerritos Center in California on March 18, with additional stops planned at Canada as part of the broader North America rollout.
This first Sanrio pop-up in North America marks a key milestone in MINISO’s global brand upgrade, as the brand continues its transition toward a global leading IP operation platform.
