MINISO Expands Global Vinyl Plush Festival with First Vinyl Plush U.S. Pop-Ups
Global lifestyle brand MINISO is bringing its worldwide Vinyl Plush Festival to the U.S. with a theme of “Hang Out With MINISO” and running from September 20 through October 26. Marking the brand’s first vinyl plush pop-up experience in the country, the festival includes pop-up stores in Austin, Portland, and Chicago, where fans can discover the latest vinyl-plush collections licensed from top global IPs, including Disney and Sanrio. This initiative underscores MINISO's expansion within the designer-toy segment and introduces stateside fans to joyful, shareable vinyl plush experiences.

MINISOs Exclusive Pop-Up Heads to Austin, Portland & Chicago
The Vinyl Plush Festival kicked off on September 20 at Barton Creek Square in Austin, drawing enthusiastic crowds of collectors and trendsetters. It continues at Clackamas Town Center in Happy Valley—the largest and longest enclosed mall in the Portland metropolitan area—from September 27 to October 19, and concludes at Woodfield Mall near Chicago, one of the nation's largest shopping venues, from October 4 to October 26. Stores will be drenched in a creamy-purple palette with Sanrio IP character décor and an oversized Stitch figure that invites guests to explore what's inside.

MINISO Vinyl Plush is becoming Gen Zs Signature Tag
Highlighting the pop-up, MINISO debuts the Sanrio POP STAR and Sanrio FOX ISLAND collections to immediate acclaim from designer-toy enthusiasts and IP collectors. The POP STAR series fuses K-pop and Y2K aesthetics with oversized plush headpieces, stylish apparel and interchangeable accessories, while FOX ISLAND lines deliver a cozy, calming palette accented by fox-ear silhouettes and jingling bell bows. Randomly inserted rare pieces fuel on-site trading and collaborative set-building, turning every purchase into a social moment.

The special-edition Disney Stitch Panda, kitted out in a bear hood and green asymmetrical chain, heads a roster that includes Mickey Head in the Clouds, Stitch Eat Something Before Sleep and the Stitch Gen Z Street Collection. Merging toy culture with street-level utility, MINISO’s vinyl plush converts from a display piece to a bag charm or gift-ready present.
The “Hang Out With MINISO” Vinyl Plush Festival showcases the brand’s unique appeal to Gen Z through mood-driven themes, fashion-forward styling, and playful expressions of personal relationships. Designed for multiple scenarios, the vinyl plush can be used as keychains, gifts, or home décor, offering both functionality and collectability.

Beyond the U.S. pop-ups, the “Hang Out With MINISO” Festival has already kicked off worldwide. MINISO is rolling out dedicated vinyl plush zones across stores in Canada, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Notably, MINISO store at Singapore’s Changi Airport will launch exclusive Disney Mickey City Collection Vinyl Plush Pendant and 12-inch Plush Toy both in the shape of Merlion starting October 1, 2025.
